about
"Come and Go" is a song written by Scarlet Cord, my high school rock band (and also the first band I was ever in).
Out of all the songs that we wrote together as a band, "Come and Go" was my personal favorite. Over the years, it is a song that I always find myself coming back to. Whether is to practice the acoustic picking pattern, or the tapping guitar riff, or the lyrics of the chorus; this song has stuck with me ever since it was first released.
I have a lot of nostalgia connected to this song and for years I've wanted to re-record it to pay tribute to that time in my life. I'm glad that I've finally gotten around to doing so, and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do!
lyrics
Verse 1:
I remember how it felt when I first met you
The high lasted a while but I
Pushed for more of this feeling
I wanted that feeling
Chorus:
Seems like you come and go
But I should know better than this
You’re always there so I shouldn’t worry
Verse 2:
I heard before you came into my life
That you loved, me this love
I’ve only tasted a glimpse
Now I want more
I want more
Chorus (2x):
Seems like you come and go
But I should know better than this
You’re always there so I shouldn’t worry
Bridge:
I can’t depend on my feelings
I’m gonna let them go
I won’t depend on my feelings
cuz they won’t always show
Up, up, up
up, up
Chorus (2x):
Seems like you come and go
But I should know better than this
You’re always there so I shouldn’t worry
